Which CS 1.6 version to choose

Every version on this site is the full Counter-Strike 1.6 and joins the same servers. Only the look and sound differ: menu, background, weapons or HUD. Pick what you like.

You want the game exactly as you remember it

CS 1.6 Original has the classic weapons, sounds and menu, and a clean config. It is the safe choice if you are unsure.

You want the smallest download

CS 1.6 Clean has nothing extra: no ads, no servers added to Favorites, no changed skins.

You want the menu in Romanian

CS 1.6 Romania has the main menu in Romanian and the Romanian flag in the background.

You mostly play zombie servers

CS 1.6 Zombie has a zombie-themed menu and background. It works on normal servers too.

You like the CS: Source look

CS 1.6 Source changes weapon models, sounds and HUD to a Source style. The gameplay stays 1.6.

You have a big monitor or want something newer

CS 1.6 2024 has a new menu, a modern HUD and settings for high resolutions.

Can I have more than one?

Yes. Install each version in its own folder and they will not interfere. You can copy your userconfig.cfg from one to another.
