The most played CS 1.6 maps

CS 1.6 ships with over 20 maps and servers add hundreds more. A few have stayed everyone's favourites for more than 20 years.

de_dust2

The most played map in Counter-Strike history. Two bomb sites, short clear routes, good for beginners too. On a public server there is a good chance it is dust2.

de_inferno

A small Italian town with narrow streets. Teamwork matters: banana and the apartments are where rounds are won.

de_nuke

A nuclear plant on two levels, with one bomb site above the other. Hard at first, but loved in serious matches.

de_train

A rail yard with wagons to hide between. Lots of angles and lots of patience.

cs_office and cs_italy

Hostage maps: CTs rescue, Ts guard. cs_office, with the office and the snow outside, is one of the best known.

de_aztec, de_dust, cs_assault

Classics from the early versions, still on many servers.

Server maps

aim_ and awp_ maps (for example awp_india) are small maps for aim practice. fy_ maps (fy_snow, fy_iceworld) are fast maps with weapons on the ground. Zombie and deathrun servers use maps made for those modes; they download on their own when you join.
